Coventry and Warwickshire Training Hub – New Starters

We would like to welcome Katrina Hickman, Amy Cullen, Glenn Walker and Ryan Smith to our Training Hub team. Katrina & Amy join us as our new LAPOs (Learning, Assurement and Placement Officers) for Rugby and Coventry whilst Glenn and Ryan will be our Non-Clinical Leads, working to see how the Training Hub can develop to meet practice and PCN needs.

Please join us in welcoming them to the Training Hub team.

PMA Apprenticeships

CWTH is making £10,000 available to support the 5% employer contribution to new non-clinical apprenticeships, commenced via PMA from July ’23 to February ’24 following our collaboration. This can support one apprenticeship per practice on a first come first served basis until this funding is drawn down, potentially funding 40 places. CWTH will work with PMA to manage the invoice and payment aspects.

We are proudly working in collaboration with the PMA to support the recruitment, training, and retention of non-clinical leaders and administration staff.

If you are looking to recruit a new apprentice or upskill an existing team member, please complete the short survey.

Health and Wellbeing

Registration Open – Putting your wellbeing first

It was great to see so many of you on the first of the Work Well Webinars last month.

If you couldn’t join us live, then grab a cuppa and a sofa and watch or listen to a recording of the webinar.

Following the webinar we promised a few links to support – just click here to get the handouts and conversations canvasses for the Zone of Power, the Stress Curve, Prioritisation Grid and an extra tool called the Thrive Week Planner (check it out – it’s the best way to design a week you’re gonna love!)

Next month’s webinar

Next month’s webinar ‘How to support your colleagues without burning out yourself‘ is on Tuesday 14th November at 7.30pm.

This interactive webinar is for people who are concerned about their teams’ wellbeing, but don’t want to slip into “rescuer” mode in the drama triangle and take on more stress themselves.

We’ll explore:

  • common ways we exacerbate overwhelm by taking on more and more
  • learn how we can empower others to solve their own problems instead – building our teams’ resilience rather than ‘fixing it’ for everyone.

Get your joining details when you sign up here

P.S. if you’re curious, other topics on the programme include:

  • How to deal with your inner critic and overcome imposter thinking.
  • How to have healthy conflict conversations
  • How to embrace your limits, say no and deal with pushback
  • Working well through the menopause and other life challenges

How to be really productive

As a professional in a high-stress, high-pressure job, you need to be able to maximize every minute of your time.

And yet, it’s really common to find yourself stuck tackling your email inbox (and those emails just seem to keep coming!).

Your to-do list grows longer and longer, and it feels like you’re never getting anything done.

Is all your training and experience there just so you can answer emails all day?

This is the question that Graham Allcott of Think Productive and author of the book How To Be a Productivity Ninja sought to answer.

This week’s episode of the You Are Not a Frog podcast, covers how to deal with endless emails, along with a host of other productivity techniques you and your colleagues can use.

QOF QI Wellbeing support

Practices are expected to do a baseline audit and employment review to evaluate the wellbeing of their staff and their workplace practices.

They are then expected to suggest some changes / wellbeing interventions and using QI (Quality Improvement) methodology, implement and then measure and evaluate these interventions.

They also need to attend 2 x PCN review meetings to share learning and resources and discuss how peer networking within the PCN can help.

Following the interventions, audits and meetings, practices need to complete the QoF reporting tool.

CWTH are working on a toolkit to help practices follow the 5 steps outlined in the QoF 2023/4 NHS England Guidance by providing some practical tools, resources, training and templates.

Watch this space for your toolkit!
