GP Staff Survey – Now Live!

The GP Staff Survey is now live!

Please complete the survey, spread the word and encourage your staff to take the time to complete the survey to ensure their voice counts.

A minimum of 10 surveys per organisation will need to be completed to be eligible for an organisation post-survey report. The more that complete, the better!

If you practice/PCN has signed up for the survey, you will receive an individual survey link from General Practice Staff Survey (picker_surveys@picker.org)

The closing date for the survey is Friday the 26th November. For further support, please contact pinky.sidhu2@nhs.net

Coaching

Our Coventry and Warwickshire Training Hub Coaching scheme is now open and accessible to the whole workforce.

This offer provides access to experienced coaches who understand our local system and are dedicated to supporting your professional and personal growth.

Coaching is a comfortable, guided conversation held in a confidential environment that helps individuals unlock their potential, gain clarity, and take meaningful steps toward achieving their goals. It focuses on improving performance at work through specific skills and objectives, supporting individuals to assess their strengths and development areas while aligning personal growth with organisational aims.

You are able to access a free first session with no obligation, with 5 additional sessions available for £100 in total. Fee is payable after your free introductory session.

The National Education and Training Survey (NETS) is open!

NETS is the only nationals urvey open to all healthcare students, trainees and apprentices. The survey is open until the 2nd December, 2025. It takes ten minutes to share your experiences:

Vaccine Confidence Hub

NHS England – South West has launched a ‘Vaccine Confidence Hub’, supporting non-clinical staff in vaccine conversations. The hub will aim to support a consistent, compassionate approach across the system and equip staff with practical skills to engage in open conversations around vaccines.

CPD funding for 2025/26 is currently available to support Nurses, Nursing Associates and Allied Health Professionals across Coventry and Warwickshire.

This funding helps you gain new clinical skills, maintain your professional registration, and take the next step in your career.

Fundamentals of General Practice Nursing – Funded Places

We are delighted to confirm that NHSE are providing funding for up to 8 places for Fundamentals of GP Nursing at either Birmingham City University or De Montfort University commencing in January 2026 and is open to GPNs and NAs. 

If you’d like to apply for a funded place, you’ll need employer and practice assessor support and must meet your chosen university’s criteria. Review both options then submit your application form to cw.traininghub@nhs.net.

Primary Care Education Team

It’s been a busy October for the Primary Care Education team! Across October, we hosted four packed PLT sessions reaching over 750 attendees across Coventry and Warwickshire.

From exploring mental health and dermatology in Rugby, diving into orthopaedics and bone health in Coventry (with a great hybrid turnout of 257 people, including 27 in person!), to a fantastic 359 colleagues joining our safeguarding session for South Warwickshire.

We wrapped up with a hands-on MSK workshop in North Warwickshire, welcoming 72 face-to-face attendees.

UK Disability History Month – REACH Staff Network Event

Our REACH staff network are inviting you to join them in celebrating UK Disability History month. The theme for this year is “Disability, Life and Death”.

This session will focus on hidden disabilities, including those who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Individual Visa Reimbursement – Applications Close 30.11.25

The Coventry and Warwickshire Training Hub is offering financial support to help retain General Practitioners in our region through the Visa Reimbursement Scheme.

This is a time-limited offer which will not be repeated.

This scheme will provide a one-off reimbursement for Skilled Worker visa costs. To be eligible for this reimbursement, you must:

  • Be a GP with a CCT completion date between the 1st April 2024 and 31st July 2025. Applications for those up to the 30th November will also be considered.
  • Must be holding a permanent or fixed-term contract with a GP practice/PCN in the Coventry and Warwickshire area. This includes CRGPA, SWGP or IPC employed GPs.

First 5 GP Event – 25th November

Nursing Team News

Nurse Prescribing to support Adult Social Care

Coventry and Warwickshire ICB are supporting 20 Registered Nurses working in or closely with Adult Social Care to become Nurse Prescribers. This includes Practice Nurses who work with Nursing Homes or other adult social care providers. To be considered, you:

  • Must have agreement of your employer to undertake the course and confirmation that you will have a Practice Supervisor and a Practice Assessor
  • Should have at least 1 years post-registration experience if you are a Registered Nurse
  • Must, in the year preceding application, be in the clinical field in which you intend to prescribe (For Registered Nurses)
  • Must have evidence of an enhanced Disclosure and Barring check
  • Must have evidence of ability to study at a minimum of degree academic level

More information can be found by clicking the button below. The course will start in January 2026. There are clear employer requirements which need to be met; including appropriate indemnity, commitment to study leave and job descriptions which detailed the widened scope of practice.

Long-Term Conditions and Prevention – CVDR Training Grants – Closes 7th November

NHS England’s Long-Term Conditions and Prevention (LTCP) programme has launched CVDR training grant offers that may be of interest to you and your workforce. 

The training grant process will offer training grants of up to £3,000 per applicant to enable healthcare professionals to access level 7 (postgraduate) courses offering advanced training in long-term conditions.

As part of the legacy offer the National Polypharmacy Programme Team have launched a shared learning network to stay in touch with colleagues interested in addressing problematic polypharmacy.
