7 Early Signs of Burnout and 10 Simple & Practical Tools To Help
with Dr Rangan Chatterjee
Many of us think we can keep pushing day after day, week after week, month after month without any consequences. But we can’t.
It’s fair to say the world of work has completely transformed over the past few years.
Pressures on everyone are through the roof, no matter what your paygrade or level of responsibility.
Add to that the rise in home working, the cost-of-living crisis and the fact that boundaries between work and home have become increasingly blurred means that it is something that more and more of us are experiencing.
Watch the video below to hear more on this topic and the 10 simple things you can start doing now to change things.

Who can I reach out to & get support from?
Call the 24/7 confidential counselling service run by Vivup.
There is no limit on the number of times you can call, and everything discussed is treated in the strictest of confidence.

The Shout text service is a national staff support service for all our staff which provides immediate help and signposts to health and wellbeing support.
It’s totally confidential and available 24/7.

Mental Health Awareness Week
In a world full of uncertainties, how do we stop ourselves from being overcome with fear, worry and anxiety?
In this episode, The Joyful Doctor, Caroline Walker, joins us to share about the negative and positive effects of worrying. She also gives us useful tips and techniques that work in managing anxiety so that our mental health and wellbeing can thrive.

The ‘4-7-8’ mindfulness technique can help you control your thoughts and engage with the present when anxious.

Wellbeing Tools – Microsoft Teams
Many of us spend the entire working day at a computer screen and it is easy to forget to take breaks and get distracted by emails or Teams messages.
Some studies suggest it takes a full 23 minutes to recover your focus after a distraction. This can impact on our physical and mental wellbeing, and also affect our productivity.
Microsoft Teams have put together wellbeing tools to help you manage your time and focus better.
Breakthru
Breakthru is a new wellbeing application in Teams offering tiny breaks, to share and play, free for all NHS colleagues to improve their wellbeing.

Our new ways of working is making us all more sedentary with video call after video call, with Breakthru little by little we encourage more breaks with fun activities to get us all moving, stretching and breathing.
For detailed instructions on how to use Breakthru, click here.
Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Conference
In General Practice, we recognise the importance of creating a culture that is equal, diverse and inclusive and that reflects the rich diversity of our patients and workforce. With a wonderfully diverse team to support, we are committed to making this a priority.

This conference will focus on why equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) matters in General Practice, what the data shows us and what C&W Training Hub are doing to support EDI in General Practice.
It will be a platform to share new ideas that will stimulate our thinking about EDI and an opportunity to draw on a wide range of best practice and learnings from across the country.
To register for the EDI conference and for the agenda , please click on the button below.
