Wellbeing Webinar Tonight

Mays webinar: How to have healthy conflict conversations

What’s the challenging conversation that is holding you back at the moment? Or what is a conversation that you know you should have but are avoiding?

We all face conversations that feel hard and uncomfortable. But when we avoid or deflect them, we end up with resentment and discontent building up in a way that can have a hugely detrimental impact on our team.

Understanding what happens to us when we are triggered, the impact of operating in a chaotic emotional state and choosing a different mindset is key to changing how we go about having more effective and useful conversations.

**Attending counts towards your CPD- forms to evidence this are provided by the Shapes Toolkit team**

Our next webinar, How to have healthy conflict conversations, is happening at 7.30pm on Wednesday 15th May.

Annie Hanekom, Director of Leadership at Wild Monday will be hosting Dr Sarah Coope who has a background in clinical education, coaching and leadership, at the May Work Well Webinar to help you learn:

  • How to avoid dysfunctional approaches to a tricky conversation
  • Steer clear of having conversations when triggered
  • Get better at managing our response

When you register, you’ll also get access to recordings of the previous trainings and lots of other helpful resources.

Mental Health Awareness Week

‘Movement: Moving more for our mental health’ is the theme of Mental Health Awareness Week 2024.

This year, we want you to move your way by finding something that moves your body and mind – take a look at some of our suggestions below!

Move your way: Swimming as Medicine

Move your way: Get active whilst living with a health condition

Just living daily life can be challenging for many people with long-term health conditions. So adding exercise into the mix can often feel near impossible. We hope these stories inspire others to try taking

Five In Five

Start building small amounts of activity into your day with Five in Five, a five minute mini-workout designed for people living with long term health conditions.

Move your way: Walking

Walking is one of the easiest ways to improve our health and stay connected to our community, helping us feel less lonely and isolated.

As part of National Walking Month and Mental Health Awareness week – we’re inviting you to celebrate the many benefits of walking and wheeling.

Get in touch with your Health and Wellbeing Champion and find out about lunchtime/evening walks that are organised for your practice/PCN…OR go ahead and organise a walk round the block on your lunchbreak and let us know how you get on!

Common barriers to movement

Despite the benefits of movement for our mental health, there are barriers that stop us from being active. It’s important to recognise these challenges and find ways to move that work for you and your daily needs.

I can get wellbeing support on the go

I love that I can access mental health podcasts on the go – being able to access support on the way to work or when i’m out and about has been a real game changer for me.

I saved approx. £200 on my supermarket shop!

My family and I have struggled with the cost of living as many of us have and the high street e-vouchers have helped us to save. We saved around £200 last year on our supermarket shop!

My tip is to download the Vivup app and buy your e-voucher on the go so you can save wherever you end up shopping.

Confidential support when I needed it

Work has felt really stressful and with elderly parents to support and two teenagers to look after I was struggling to cope and really needed someone to talk to. I had seen the Vivup telephone support poster and thought i’d give them a call.

I’m really glad I did…
