This is a 2 day course on 24th September and 1st October. Please make sure you are available to attend both days.
The importance of good wound care in general practice is essential and it is often one of the first areas that PNs are expected to manage.
We have also included a competency framework that you can go on and achieve in practice and together with some reflection get signed off by a more experienced colleague
Please note, we also offer a ½ day on Doppler procedure and interpretation to follow at approx. 3-4w but this needs to be face2face so will have to be delayed if meeting not possible.
Learning Outcomes:
- To help understand of the physiology of wound healing, including chronic venous and arterial insufficiency
- Develop an understanding of topical medications and emollients
- Knowledge of commonly used dressings
- The importance of regular review and supervised self management plans
- Allows discussion of relevant practice problems and their solutions
- Understand the importance of ongoing professional development
