My name is Sarah Ajam, I graduated from Cardiff University in 2011. I completed my foundation training in the Wales deanery, and I moved to Coventry and Warwickshire VTS to do my GP training.
I got my CCT in 2018 and I’ve been working as a locum GP for the past three years as well as having some non-clinical roles. I’m now a salaried GP at Hazelwood group practice in Coleshill.
I sit on the West Midlands faculty board for the RCGP as the Warwickshire rep As well as being on the steering group for the New to Practice Programme and the First5 Coventry and Warwickshire steering groups.
As an Aspiring Leaders Fellow, I’m hoping to improve the quality of the patient journey by designing systems that enable quick and efficient access to medical care. I also want to find ways of reducing the workload for doctors and improving communication between primary and secondary care.
I look forward to staying in this exciting new role and really making a difference to the local community.
