General Practice Assistant Programme
We no longer offer the GPA programme at the Coventry & Warwickshire Training Hub as we now have a Midlands Wide offer run through the Lincolnshire Training Hub affiliated with the University of Derby – details of how to register on this programme are below:

The eLfH no longer runs the accredited programme through the website however, the local Midlands Programme is offering places on their programme – please see further details here.
GPAs under the PCN DES
GPAs are an additional role and are contracted under the PCN DES. You can read more by visiting the link below:
Supervision
All GPAs must have a GP Mentor. However, their competencies can be signed off by a suitably qualified colleague such as practice manager, senior administrator, registered nurse.
It is good practice for Mentors and GPAs to meet monthly to review their learning and development plan, any changes to their job plan as they work through the GPA programme, and a wellbeing check.
It is also helpful for the GPA to record their learning and competencies on an e-portfolio, the details of which can be shared with their mentor / supervisor as applicable
