On Friday 20th January, we hosted our first-ever Pharmacy Technician Away Day! The event was attended by 16 pharmacy technicians from 9 PCNs in Coventry & Warwickshire.

Our guest speaker, Amandeep Bhandal, from WM AHSN explored with the group their role in patient safety in opioid prescribing. Jo Chater from SW Fed gave a presentation on hypertension, with a particular focus on how a PT can use their clinical skills to support the management and detection of hypertension in primary care.

Pharmacy technicians from across our PCNs shared QI projects to inspire others and share best practice, with topics ranging from online ordering by proxy for people living in care homes to supporting a greener NHS through inhaler choice.

Everyone who attended enjoyed the day and is looking forward to meeting and working together again in the future. For more details on this event, or future events, please contact Rosalyne Payne.
