Visionary Fellowship – Leaders in Digital Systems

I completed my medical training at Warwick University, before undertaking foundation training in the Mersey deanery and then returned to Warwickshire for VTS training.

Since completing training in 2017 I have been able to work in various practices throughout Coventry and Warwickshire which has provided valuable experience with regard to the unique challenges that different practices face. In addition to continuing to work in various practices, I continue to work within extended hours and Warwick Hospital emergency department.

I also have various roles with the GMC, examining for PLAB as well as helping write and develop both the written and osce examinations.

The opportunities to work within different settings within Warwickshire and outside of medicine has highlighted the difference that effective digital systems can make to clinical practice. The pandemic particularly has highlighted this, but also that there is a great variation in how practices are able to utilise these systems dependant on size, resources and patient population.

Having been fortunate to be offered the fellowship I am excited to be able to utilise my experience, engage with practices to continue to develop systems that benefit the practices and that help reduce the ever-increasing burden on general practice.
