How do I get the most out of mentoring?
Start your mentoring journey with open ideas and conversations. Remember you may not know what you want to discuss yet!
You may have an idea about want to cover before each session – so feel free to prepare some questions/idea/topics beforehand.
Your mentor may also come prepared with some questions and an outline. Be responsible for your own development – your mentor is there just to advise, you are there to do the work. Be open, honest and willing to trust your mentor’s advice.
Expect to be challenged and pushed out of your comfort zone – this is how you develop skills. Most of all, embrace it and enjoy it. Take the time.
