Coventry and Warwickshire Training Hub would like to formally congratulate the following PCNs and Practices on becoming fully ratified Learning Environments via the Training Hub Quality Assurance team and NHSE:

  • Sowe Valley PCN
  • Kenilworth and Warwick PCN
  • Brookside
  • Longford
  • Warwick Gates

These PCNs and Practices have shown real dedication and patience in completing the application process, working closely with their Learning Assurance & Placement Officer (LAPO) from the Quality Assurance team.

Becoming a ratified Learning Environment adds another layer to ensuring high-quality student experiences within general practice. The process takes a multi-disciplinary approach to assess your learning culture, supervisor support, and the ability to grow the next generation of staff within general practice. It also now forms a key step prior to achieving Training Practice status from the GP School.

Sowe Valley PCN is grateful for the support provided by our LAPO Pinky Sidhu and the wider Training Hub team with our successful LEAF application. The LEAF process has helped us to reflect on what is working well and consider improvements for how we can best support learners.

I would absolutely recommend others to take part in the C&W Training Hub ‘Learning Environment Application Process’. It provides external validation of the quality of your learning environment, builds organisational confidence, and ultimately helps ensure learners feel supported and valued. The process is not only about accreditation but also about identifying opportunities for improvement and celebrating what is already working well.

The Quality Assurance team are continuing to work at pace, with many more PCNs and Practices across Coventry and Warwickshire, meaning further announcements can be expected in the coming months. For more information on the process, or if you have any questions, please contact Gemma Stainthorp (Quality and Operational Lead), who will be happy to take any questions or connect you with your LAPO.
