The Coventry and Warwickshire Training Hub proudly hosted the 2025 Gill Schweigert Innovation Awards ceremony last week (12th November), bringing together nursing teams from across the region and recognising the innovative work that is taking place across Coventry and Warwickshire.
Supported by Coventry and Warwickshire Integrated Primary Care, South Warwickshire GP Federation and Clarendon Lodge Medical Practice, the Gill Schweigert Innovation Award celebrates dedication, creativity and commitment to improving care for our patients and communities.
Now in its second year, the award shines a light on the leadership and impact of our nursing teams in driving change across the region. This year’s shortlisted projects showcased a wide range of innovative approaches, from new patient pathways to workforce development and quality improvement in the delivery of care.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chris Beyer, Chief Operating Officer at SWGP, said:
“Every project nominated for the Gill Schweigert Awards is an example of primary care nursing teams working hard to deliver great services to patients. We would like to congratulate the winners and all those who took part and look forward to sharing some of the learnings with our member practices across South Warwickshire.”
Cristina Ramos, IPC Chair, added:
“These awards not only shine a spotlight on some of the most creative, innovative and impactful nursing projects across the region, but also enable further investment in positive initiatives for patients through the award grants. Coventry and Warwickshire Integrated Primary Care is proud to sponsor this event which celebrates the hard work of nursing staff across the system. Congratulations to all those nominated for this prestigious award.”
The Coventry and Warwickshire Training Hub would like to extend its thanks to all nominees, sponsors and supporters for their continued commitment to nursing excellence.
