This comprehensive half-day course is designed to empower healthcare professionals with the knowledge and skills in the conservative and surgical management of uterovaginal prolapse, including skills necessary to proficiently perform ring pessary fitting and exchange. Participants will benefit from a structured learning experience that includes supervised practice to achieve competencies in this crucial aspect of women’s health care.
Learning Outcomes:
- Demonstrate a critical understanding of key discussion points with patients regarding uterovaginal prolapse and its management.
- Confidently size and fit ring pessaries to address the needs of their patients.
- Discuss and address relevant practice problems and develop effective solutions.
- Develop an awareness of how personal attitudes and values may impact their clinical practice in Urogynaecology.
- Cultivate an understanding of the evolving practices and professional accountability within the specialized field of Urogynaecology.
- Familiarize themselves with the NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) Guidance regarding female urinary incontinence and the management of prolapse, ensuring that their practice aligns with current standards.

- Conservative and Surgical Management of Uterovaginal Prolapse Theory (1.5 hours): This segment delves into the theoretical aspects of managing uterovaginal prolapse, providing participants with a solid foundation of knowledge.
- Practical Demonstration Session on Ring Pessary Assessment and Fitting on aModel (1.5 hours): Attendees will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in assessing and fitting ring pessaries through a guided practical demonstration session.

The cost of the course includes 20% VAT.
This event is funded, through the Training Hub, by public money. Non-attendance therefore comes at a cost to patients, the NHS, and the public.
