Hello, I’m Serena, and I’m a Mental Health & Wellbeing Coach working across five GP surgeries in Coventry and I am also a Health Coach Supervisor.

If you asked me what my dream job is, I would reply that being a Health and Wellbeing Coach is my dream job! I work on a one-to-one basis with people to support their mental and emotional wellbeing, helping them to feel more confident, hopeful and more in-control of their own future once our sessions are over.
So, what does that look like in practice? It varies from person to person, but may involve improving their mood, helping them to manage anxiety/stress or finding healthier habits. Whatever the patient’s goals are, I work with them to create small, meaningful changes that over time, add up to a better quality of life.
Why do I enjoy being a Health and Wellbeing Coach?
As someone who has been on my own journey with mental health, I know how powerful the right support can be. Coaching others allows me to give people the space they need to feel heard and enables me to help them feel empowered to make changes that last.
There’s something special about walking alongside someone who is going through a tough time. Being able to help and watch them rediscover their strengths and build a life that feels more manageable, and fulfilling, is a feeling that never gets old!
Coaching brings together everything I love all in one package, listening to others without judgment, helping people set realistic goals, and celebrating the little wins along the way.
Seeing the Difference
The best way to understand the impact of Health and Wellbeing Coaching is to see the impact it has had on those who have worked with one. Below are just a few examples of some of the ways Health and Wellbeing Coaching can help you.
Patient names and identifying information have been removed from these case studies.
1. Case Study One – Supporting someone back into employment
A patient came to coaching after a long period away from work and they were feeling overwhelmed and unsure how to move forward. Over several sessions, we worked together to explore what was important to them, helping them to recognise unhelpful patterns like people-pleasing, and built strategies for increasing their emotional resilience.
They returned to work with greater energy and confidence, able to flourish on their own terms.
“I started the sessions feeling suicidal and finished loving life again. I’m so grateful.”

2. Case Study Two – Navigating my identity
Another client used coaching to explore important aspects of their identity in a safe space. They came to me feeling uncertain and isolated but over time, they were able to express themselves more fully, reflect on their values, and begin to connect more confidently with who they are.
“The coaching I received has given me hope for the future.”

3. Case Study Three – Building Confidence
One young adult felt stuck in life, they were anxious, unmotivated, and struggling in social situations. Through our coaching sessions, we co-created a simple routine, explored ways to improve their self-esteem and boundaries, and worked towards building confidence step-by-step.
By the end of our time together, they no longer felt stuck and were applying for jobs and engaging in everyday situations that had previously felt overwhelming.
“This is the first time I feel as if I have accessed a service that has helped to change my negative mindset.”
Why should you use a Health and Wellbeing Coach?
What I love about coaching is how quickly small changes can lead to big shifts.
People often tell me they feel more hopeful, more capable, and more in control after just a few sessions. The sessions are not about just giving people advice but giving people the tools and confident to support themselves in whatever their goals may be.
Coaching isn’t always a long-term commitment either. Some people only need a few sessions to get back on track – others might dip in and out as life changes. It’s flexible, respectful, and designed to fit around you.
