Career Break Support Network

Support for GPs on a Career Break

If you’re currently on a career break, it’s important to stay connected with your professional development and wellbeing. Our network offers a variety of support tailored to GPs who are returning to practice.

What support can I access when returning from a career break?

Professional Development

Access hybrid learning delivered by the Training Hub Education Team, along with local CPD events, such as Lunch and Learns and PLTs, to help you keep your skills up to date.

Wellbeing Support

The Training Hub provides wellbeing support services for all roles. You can find further details about the available support on the Training Hub Wellbeing Page.

Networking

Stay connected with your peers through a WhatsApp group for returning GPs, where you can share insights, ask questions, and receive updates on local educational events and opportunities.

Peer Support

Attend informal meet-ups and connect with fellow GPs in the First 5, Middle 5, and Wise 5 groups, where you can find support and professional networking.

Mentorship Opportunities

We can help you access mentoring schemes through the Training Hub for personalised support as you return to practice.

Shadowing

Take part in shadowing opportunities within local practices or the Training Hub team to help you regain confidence and ease back into clinical work.
