Grief Awareness

Sometimes when friends and family tell you they are doing alright, we might have to read between the lines to find out how they are really feeling.

Look out for those who have lost loved ones, including yourself…

This Friday we have a Bereavement and Coping with Loss support session, for more information see below and to sign up click here or scan the QR code in the poster.

5 reminders you might need this week

It’s okay if it doesn’t all get done

We put so much pressure on ourselves to do so much at a time of year when our bodies are craving rest. Give yourself permission to take some things off the to-do list!

It’s okay if it’s not the most wonderful time of the year for you

Christmas can be hard for so many reasons and there is no ‘right’ way to feel.

If you find Christmas a difficult time of year, click here for some tips to help you cope.

There’s no such thing as a perfect Christmas

No matter how things might appear on social media…

People get sick, kids have tantrums, families argues and most homes won’t look picture perfect.

Instead of holiding yourself to an impossible standard, alow yourself to be present for whaterver sort of festive period you’re having.

Joy lives in the little moments

When you look back on this Christmas in years to come, it won’t be the gifts or the picture perfect outfits you will remember – it’ll be the laughter in the kitchen, the board game rivalry, the funny thing your kid said…

Dont let worry over the seemingly big stuff rob you from being present for the little joys.

This too shall pass

Whether you’re having a wonderful festive period or a challenging on, remember that this too shall pass. In the blink of an eye, January will be here – use that reminder as motivation to give yourself whatever you need in the coming weeks.

Why Self-Care ISN’T Selfish

This month’s video is a 5 minute insight into ‘Why Self-Care isn’t Selfish.’

Hear Dr Rachel Morris talk about the importance of self-care to re-energise ourselves.

There’s a team wellbeing activity to go with it (of 5 mins, 20 mins or 40 mins – you choose) which you can use in a meeting.

When you register, you’ll also get access to recordings of the previous trainings and lots of other helpful resources.

In the Moment support

If you have been finding it hard to reach out to friends, family, or your colleagues, there are a variety of mental health helplines with trained volunteers who will support and listen to you.

Talking to someone who does not have a personal connection to you can lessen the stress and anxiety you may feel about discussing your mental health.
