Please join us for this annual immunisation update. This is for healthcare professionals who have attended a two-day foundation course prior and require an annual update.
The session will include:
- Current issues in immunisation
- Recent epidemiology of vaccine preventable disease
- Any changes to vaccine recommendations or national policy
- Update on vaccine ordering, storage and administration
- Review of current practice, recent vaccine incidents and identification of areas for improvement
- Flu programme for 2024/25
- Anaphylaxis overview
- Q&A session for problems encountered in practice
- Quiz
Aims and objectives for the session:
- Ensure practice is safe and effective
- Provide accurate and up to date information about Influenza, Shingles and Pneumonia diseases and vaccines to the Patients, Parents and Carers
- Support individuals to make informed decisions about vaccination
- Promote public confidence in vaccination
- Improve the uptake of Immunisation
- Know where to request specialist advice if required
- Deliver a high standard of care
- Demonstrate competence in vaccine storage and administration
- Access and follow the recommendations detailed in the online version of Immunisation against infectious disease – the Green Book.
This course meets the mandatory requirements of the National Minimum Standards for Immunisation Training (2015).
Public Health England (PHE) recommend that those undertaking immunisation should have yearly updates.
You will receive a certificate of attendance on completion of the virtual training.

The cost of the course includes 20% VAT.
This event is funded, through the Training Hub, by public money. Non-attendance therefore comes at a cost to patients, the NHS, and the public. Spaces at our events might be limited and your absence may prevent others from benefiting from the opportunity. If you are no longer able to attend, please notify us by replying to this email as soon as possible. For cancellations less than 72 hours prior to the course start date and all ‘no-shows’, we reserve the right to charge a £50.00 administration fee.
