This six-day CPD programme has been designed in collaboration with the Black Country and West Birmingham Sustainability and Transformation Partnership (STP). It will prepare General Practice Nurses to develop their career and enhance their leadership skills and potential.
The course will further your understanding of the organisational and strategic issues facing General Practice. Throughout the programme, you will apply your knowledge in order to develop your leadership skills.
You will:
- Develop ideas for improving quality and service delivery
- Enhance your skills in verbal and written presentation, report writing, and business planning
- Explore personal qualities and team building through coaching, communication skills, developing resilience and managing stress
- Address the macro perspectives of population assessment, public health and long-term conditions.
By the end of the six-day programme, you will feel empowered and equipped to take a proactive leadership role in your practice and wider primary care network.
How you will learn
You will be inspired through teaching by specialist multi-disciplinary practitioners via interactive remote learning. Your learning will be enhanced by dedicated online resources as well as opportunities to interact with peers and the teaching team. You will receive individual support from a personal tutor for the duration of the programme to help you engage in both directed and self-directed learning activities and be an active partner in your own learning and development.
You will be encouraged to assess your own development needs and consider career options and ways in which to develop your role.
